a way to "stop" or "take down" a service ad.
This was easy in CW1.0 and it's now very unintuitive. Very often users will post requests and once the request is fulfilled, they need to take it down. Similarly, someone may offer a service and then want to stop or get too busy to offer it. They should be able to take their ad down immediately.
As it is now, the only way to do this is to edit the expiration date so the ad will expire tomorrow (it won't allow today), then wait another day before it becomes inactive. This just feels like a hack or a workaround, and I think members deserve a simple way to do this.
I have added the idea of a button ti immediately “expire” an ad.

CW1 used to allow you to (temporarily) "deactivate" a current service ad (both offers & requests) instead of to (permanently) "delete" it, so that the same ad can later be reACTIVATEd when needed once again. This eliminated the need to have to recompose the ad. For example, if a request is needed periodically (rides, seasonal yard work, etc.), it can be de-activated when someone has made arrangements to provide that service this time around, as well as re-activated whenever it's needed again (and show up as a NEW request, which many members look for - and stop scanning when they reach the last ones they've already seen).
Many time banks send out update notices of newly posted ads to all members, which helps to ADvertise and expedite responses for the members.
There are so many handy CW1 features that were lost, left out, or simply forgotten to be carried over into CW2 !!!

I seem to be out of votes, but I definitely think this is important

Yes, that's true! You can always delete it and that might be enough for other people. This is for the case where it's a seasonal ad (leaf raking, snow shoveling) or you temporarily are too busy to offer it but don't want to type it in again later when you repost it. It was a nice feature in CW1.0. Thanks for explaining Alan, I didn't mean to alarm anyone, hehe.

Just to clarify, so that this doesn't cause any confusion. You can *delete* ads at any time and they will go away instantly. What Louisa is referring to is the ability to "Stop" ads (keep them around as expired ads). If you want to do that, it's true that you have to change the expiration date to tomorrow and wait for tomorrow for it to expire. But that's only if you want to save it. I understand that's part of your process Louisa, but it only came to our attention at the 11th hour when it was too late to do anything about it. Sorry and thanks for understanding.

By the way, if anyone actually finds a simpler way to do this, please let me know!
